Got an email from vicdays.com ? DO NOT CLICK THE LINK TO VICDAYS.COM

Lots of people got an email in which they are invited to watch some pictures of them on Facebook or MySpace.

If you got that message and log on to MySpace or Facebook (or any other site after a click on a vic days link), change your password.

Why? Because they’ll use a script to login as you on Facebook or MySpace and then spam all your online friends with the same message that tricked you.

Just avoid the www.vicdays.com website completely. There are no pics of you or anyone else on the site.

After Blackle, Greenle.

The idea behind http://blackle.com was to save energy by using black instead of white as the background color.

Scientists are clear : it's useless, since the energy savings are unnoticeable. Worse : it may be MORE energy-consuming to use a black background.

There comes Greenle, the green web search : the idea is to use it to keep the environment in mind. Simple. Funny.

Once again, Google and Apple : Youtube on iPhone

The iPhone will support Youtube. An icon on the desktop will lead to 10,000 videos encoded in H.264 format, to ensure a minimum battery power usage.

http://www.redherring.com/Article.aspx?a=22660&hed=YouTube%3B+iPhone%3B+Apple+Scores

Fact: the iPhone will work WiFi. Live events will be able to broadcast (webcast ? iPhonecast ? iCast ?) live streams to iPhones in the attendance. And so are stadiums, ball parks and race tracks.
More money for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NASCAR (do NASCAR fans know Apple ?), NHL...

I want a Google Car !

I made myself an auto-proclaimed Google evangelist a few months ago, telling everybody that Google was founding 1 billion $ to develop the car of the future.

The truth is now public (and, sorry, I made a little mistake : 10 millions are allowed, not 1 billion... but I bet it's going to be 1 billion some day).

It's great news for the planet AND the economy, since 95% of the fuel we are burning is used to move... the car, not the passengers !
It's like spending 1000$ at the grocery store to eat 50$ of food ! 950$ in the trash.
Would you call yourself an idiot if you were doing it ?
Why are you doing it with your car ?
There comes Google

Are investors going to move their money from Detroit to Mountain View ? Hopefully, yes.

R.I.P. GM, Ford, Chrysler.
Good news, because they are stupid companies, stupid enough to let an Internet company take their market.
Let the stupid die, Darwin said. Future will be better.

More funny things

I've found this site, which I optimized a few weeks ago: http://simple-credit-cards-and-loans.com, ranking high on MSN:
http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=easy%20approval%20credit%20card&src=IE-SearchBox

Search expression : easy approval credit cards

Ranks third in MSN, not on first 100 on Yahoo! or Google

And seventh with credit cards easy to get

Appréciez !

I did a basic seo job for this site : http://cleancredit365.com.
A few weeks later, I checked major search sites to find out the site.

Two targeted expressions were :
"clean my credit"
"how can i clean my credit"

Let's see what happened:

keywords set #1 : clean my credit
MSN Live: not in first 100 of 2,168,000
http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=clean+my+credit&sourceid=Mozilla-search&form=CHROME

Google: 98 of 8,630,000
http://www.google.com/search?q=clean+my+credit&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
keywords set #2 : how can i clean my credit

MSN Live: FIRST of 1,313,297
Of course, rankings are going to change but must be good for a few weeks without any "maintenance".

I'll follow up on this.

Update : I'm posting the Google and MSN links to be able to compare in the future, AND to let any of my visitiors to let me know their thoughts ;-)

Update 2 : I noticed the SERPS (search results) are changing depending on the browser I use. What about you ?

A little bit of Viral Marketing

Ok. It has nothing to do with Search Engines, but there's two entertaining Viral Marketing campaigns going on :

TBS (Turner Broadcasting Systems) makes us laugh : http://tbshumorstudy.com/main.html

and

Watch for you shoe shine sponge - it could escape, and it runs fast enough to make Carl Lewis cry ! : http://www.kiwibirdfilms.com/

Excellent for a relax friday afternoon.
